December 24th: Warm tootsies

Today is Elfie's last day with us as he'll be picked up by Santa tonight and go back to the North Pole. He was found lying on top of the TV this morning. He left the boys some Christmas socks to make sure they have warm feet tonight. He also mentioned that he still hasn't found the pencil sharpener that Ryan lost and asked him to find a few days ago.

December 23rd: Encore!

Yesterday night Ryan had his school Christmas play where he played a reindeer. Elfie thought he did a great job and held up a sing letting him know. He also made himself his own little pair of antlers so he could be a reindeer too.

December 22nd: He's got all the right moves

We found Elfie and Barbie watching a movie and snuggling under a blanket with a bowl of popcorn. I don't mind, as long as all hands stayed above the blanket. I wonder what kind of line he used to pick her up?

December 21st: Ante up!

Elfie got a poker game going on with Ryan's Mr.Squishy bear and Alex's Coco bear. When the boys woke up, they froze into place and the chips and cards turned into chocolate!

December 20th: My bad

Elfie got into big trouble with Santa it seems. Santa told him to make up for stealing Wally's car, he had to do something nice for him...So he Febreezed all of his socks.

December 19: Joy ride

Elfie was very naughty last night. Ryan noticed that Dad's car was parked all crooked in the driveway, so he grabbed his binoculars and saw that Elfie was on the steering wheel! We went out to look and found all kinds of McDonalds wrappers in the car.

Look at this terrible parking job!

Wally was so mad, he wrote a letter to Santa

December 18th: I'm shrinking!!

Elfie brought the boys some shrinky dink crafts to keep them busy today. I haven't done shrinky dinks since I was a kid and the boys got a kick out of watching them shrivel up in the oven.

December 17th: The one that got away

Elfie! You can not go fishing in our aquarium!

Very bad elf! My poor little fishies!

December 16th: There's always time for Tim Hortons

Elfie made a pit stop on the way back from the North Pole. I wonder if he flew through the drive through? He ate all the donuts but was nice enough to leave 2 for the boys.

December 15th: Surfin the web

We discovered Elfie at the computer this morning. He had used the "Elf yourself" webpage to create a funny video of himself dancing. Elie elfed himself! You can see his funny dance, and create your own here:

December 14th: Graffiti artist

Elfie was very naughty last night. Look at what he did to our family pictures! Though what he did was naughty, it still made us laugh our butts off. Good thing he used a dry-erase marker so everything wipes right off.

December 13th: Not quite the festive look we were going for

Elfie got into a bit of mischief last night and decided to throw Ryan and Alex's socks and underwear all over the tree!

Silly Elfie!

Doesn't it look festive with the lights on?

This is Ryan showing me how he found Elfie this morning

December 12th: A little privacy please!

Whoops! Looks like Elfie had to freeze in place after a private moment on the potty! You've got a little something on your shoe there Elfie.

December 11th: Breakfast hint

Hmmm...Flour, vanilla, cinnamon, and syrup. Elfie seems to be hinting that he wants me to make the boys pancakes for breakfast. As you wish Elfie!

December 10th: Make sure you floss too

Elfie was found in the bathroom this morning. It looks like he was trying to brush his teeth like we do, except we don't make such a mess in the sink!

December 9th: Decoration Crafts

Elfie parked himself in front of the tree with some wooden decorations for the boys to colour.

December 8th: They were hung with care

We finally put up all our Christmas decorations yesterday, so Elfie decided to help out by putting a few candy canes on the mantle garland where we hang our stockings.

Thank you Elfie!

December 7th: Choo-Choo!

Elfie took the kid's Thomas tracks and made them a big elaborate track in the back room. He even turned the station into a stop at the North Pole and gave it a festive little tree.

December 6th: The most important meal of the day

Looks like Elfie decided to try and make breakfast for the boys this morning, but made a bit of a mess instead.

December 5th: Home away from home

Last night Ryan took the box that Elfie arrived in and turned it into a little elf house for him to live in. We used an oatmeal box for a bed and I even hand sewed a pillow. We cut up the Sears catalogue and some flyers to decorate the inside. In the morning Ryan found him snuggled up in the bed holding two chocolate pops, and another note for us. It read:

This house is awesome!! Thanks for all the cool stuff inside. Because I have elf magic, I was able to make the tree, the fireplace and the TV work. I was so busy watching movies that I forgot to do something fun. Here are 2 chocolate lollypops for you. I hope that's o.k.

xoxo, Elfie

December 4th: It's snowing indoors

Last night Elfie left us another note. It said:

Sorry I made a mess in the kitchen with the toilet paper. I hope you like this paper better.
xoxo, Elfie

P.S. My birthday is March 13!

So instead of leaving a mess, he left us some beautiful snowflakes. It looks really pretty in here now! Thank you Elfie!

Here he is looking up at his creations

December 3rd: Toilet paper

This morning Ryan woke up to find that Elfie had a little bit too much fun with a roll of toilet paper last night. It went right from the roll in the bathroom, through the little hallway, and all over the kitchen. Elfie was found holding on to the freezer door handle. What a little imp!

December 2nd: Lots of questions

Last night Ryan had a tonne of questions for Elfie. He took him around the house and showed him all the rooms and all of his stuff. He kept running back to the living room asking Elfie all kinds of questions. Before bed he left him some paper, markers, tape and scissors so that he wouldn't get bored.

This morning we woke up to find that Elfie had drawn some pictures and left Ryan a note with answers to his questions.

Before Ryan left for school, he wrote a little note and left some pictures for Elfie too

December 1st :Elfie's arrival

Last night I got out a big cardboard box and doctored it up to look like it came through the mail. Inside I stuffed 2 advent calenders, the elf, and a letter from Santa.

When Ryan got home from school, I told him the mailman had dropped off a big package for him and Alex. They were so excited to see what was inside. The letter from Santa said:

Dear Ryan and Alex,

I heard that you boys are getting into a little bit of trouble lately, so I have sent over Elfie, one of my best little elves to keep an eye on you, and let me know how you are behaving.

Every night while you are asleep, he will fly back to the North Pole to report on your behaviour. When he gets back, if everyone is still asleep, he might get a little bored and mischievous. Sometimes he will get into a bit of trouble, so it’s up to you guys to show him examples of how to behave properly.

Every morning when you wake up he will freeze in place. If  you guys have been behaving well that day, you may find that he has done something nice for you, but if you were were a bit naughty, you might find that he has done something naughty as well.

Make sure you are very careful with him, because when he is frozen like a statue, he can break easily. So make sure you ask Mom or Dad to move him to a safe spot when you find him in the morning.

I will be picking Elfie back up on Christmas eve when I come and deliver your presents. Until then, be good boys!

Love your friend,

Santa
